Carol Owen has a BA Hons in Painting, and a Certificate in Education. As wife of the Governor of the Cayman Islands, she became a driving force in the creation of a National Gallery for the Islands, was its principal fundraiser, and became its first chairman. She remains a trustee.
A former portrait painter whose official sitters include HRH Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, Carol now paints mainly landscapes and cityscapes. She works in oils, both on location and in the studio, and has a solo exhibition in Central London every two years.
Carol was the winner of the 2019 PAINT LIVE competition run by the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in London. She exhibits annually with the Royal Society of Marine Artists at Mall Galleries.
